Did you know that jewellery making offers health benefits? Jewellery making is a great hobby for people of all ages. It helps your mind because, in many ways, it is like putting together a puzzle. Jewellery making has been known for creating a sense of happiness and accomplishment as well helping to improve self-confidence, feeling more relaxed and relieving stress.

On this course you will learn to the basic techniques of jewellery making by making simple earrings, bracelets and necklaces.


Creative wellbeing through Sewing

Tuesday 18:30 - 20:30 starts 23 February then weekly until 16 March 2021

The process of making and working with our hands has been shown to have beneficial effects, both on our mental and physical wellbeing. Sewing can create a sense of calm, whilst stimulating the brain as we learn a new skill, giving us a great sense of achievement. It can also be a fun social activity, enabling us to interact with others, sharing sewing ideas and chatting about our day.

On this course you will learn the ancient sewing technique of making Suffolk Puffs. By learning how to make the template, recycle fabrics and use a simple hand stitching technique, you will then explore the creative potentials of this simple technique. You can use your Suffolk Puff makes to make a personal project of your own such as a decoration, accessory or toy.

Explore how photography can improve well-being! Look at the world in new ways, get outside and connect with the great outdoors. We have designed our online wellbeing course for photography to enable you to learn how to use your camera and take creative control. Delivered online and guided by an expert tutor, this is a hands-on practical course shooting subjects both indoors and outdoors.

On this course you will learn how to take better images, improve them using simple editing techniques and print them ready for display.
