Robert has previously worked in a variety of finance and office jobs.
Back in 2020, he decided to start an accounting software course at our Stone Hall Centre. However, like for many others, the COVID pandemic disrupted his plans to complete his studies. As the world shifted online, a major problem for Robert to continue his studies was he did not have the necessary IT equipment at home to join classes.
Robert though was determined to improve his job prospects and secure employment so when our centres started to open back up he made use of the IT facilities at Erdington Centre to join his AAT Access Award in Bookkeeping Level 1 classes via Zoom.
While continuing to look for work opportunities he progressed onto the next level course. Within a few weeks of starting this course Robert received the great news that he had got a job as an Accounts Assistant with an importing business in Digbeth. Having started the course, Robert was again determined to finish what he started so committed to combining his work life with finishing his course. Often coming to our Brasshouse Centre after work to complete his coursework.
Centre staff who have worked with Robert have noticed him thrive in his studies. His confidence has improved immensely and his pride in his new job is clearly evident. Robert is an exceptional learner and his determination to complete what he has started is very impressive.
