Aisha has just completed a Dressmaking - Level 2 qualification course at Saltley Centre.

She is a mother of six children and also remains very involved with the lives of her 10 grandchildren.

As a firm believer in lifelong learning she has been motivated over the years to learn many new skills that she uses to benefit her family and the wider community.

What makes Aisha special is that she has vast life experience and knowledge but remains very humble and down to earth. She always shows great respect to her fellow students and displays a positive attitude towards everyone who comes into contact with her. She is a determined to achieve her personal goals but will always makes the time to help others succeed too.

As a result of the skills she has learned on this textiles course she has started making nursing covers for mothers who are breastfeeding to preserve their modesty when out and about. These have proved very popular and she hopes to set up a business making and selling this product.

Aisha also makes time to volunteer and is a Doula, supporting pregnant and breastfeeding mums at the Fox Hollies Children Centre. She also works with an organisation called Anawhim, which supports women to integrate back in the community after being released from prison.
