Like many of our ESOL learners, Iram’s goal is to improve her communication skills.

While she is keen to become a more active parent to her children she also dreams of starting and building her own garment business.

Iram started ESOL - Entry 3 at Saltley Centre back in September 2020. Since then she has made excellent progress and is nearing completion of her Level 1 course.

Showing great dedication to her studies, Iram has shown an excellent attitude to learning and great drive to improve her skills during her time at BAES. She is a very attentive learner and pays great attention to any 1 to 1 feedback. She is highly motivated to improve her life and has now developed the confidence to speak out and take an active part in class pair and group activities.

During her time with BAES she has also become self-employed and runs a small business sewing and making clothes. This is a big step for Iram to becoming financially independent.

Iram has also developed the confidence to go and talk to her children’s teachers. She has become much more independent and has even travelled abroad alone.

Iram knows there is more learning ahead if she is to be successful in fulfilling her life goals. She intends to continue to balance her family life, business and improve her English on a Functional Skills course next year.
