Yasmin’s aspirations and ambitions are ones we hear many times at enrolment sessions.
Yasmin would like to improve her self-confidence and gain the qualifications that will help her to access higher education so that she can improve her future job prospects. What makes Yasmin stand out is the resilience and determination she shows to try to achieve these personal goals.
Yasmin is a single mother and she currently helps out at her family’s restaurant. In her job she works late into the evening, returning home most days around four in the morning. Somehow though, she still manages to be up and ready to attend her English lessons on Monday and Wednesday mornings at Sparkhill Centre. Understandably, somedays she can show signs of tiredness in class but her continued and excellent attendance speaks volumes about her determination to succeed.
Her resilience is evident in other parts of her life, such as the five attempts it took for her to pass her driving test!
Her tutor says,
“Yasmin is a pleasure to have in the classroom as she works very well with her peers and shows great enthusiasm in all that she does. Her self belief, dedication and commitment are wonderful.”
We are confident she will achieve whatever ambition she has set out to do.
