Keep Fit - Mature Movers
Course aims
To promote physical fitness and develop a positive attitude towards health through a balanced programme of movement training. To develop self-confidence.
Learning outcomes
Learners will:
- Perform warm-up exercises and understand their importance.
- Perform a wide variety of movements.
- Develop and maintain strength, stamina and coordination through a series of exercises.
- Develop an awareness of changes in pace and rhythm of movement related to music.
- Control breathing.
- Develop a sequence of movement- individual, with a partner or group.
- Use small apparatus to extend movement and add variety.
- Develop self-confidence.
- Gain a sense of achievement and well-being.
Who is the course for?
Those who are 50+ and wish to improve their mobility, coordination and general fitness.
Do I need any knowledge, skills or qualifications?
No.
Will I gain any qualifications?
No.
How will I learn?
Verbal explanation and demonstration followed by practise in the group.
What could this course lead to?
Further health and fitness courses.
What materials or equipment will I need to provide?
Comfortable trousers, cotton t-shirt or top, soft, non-slip flat shoes or trainers.

Learners will be required to complete a Health Check Questionnaire before beginning the course, to ensure it is appropriate for them.
