Can the programmes be tailored to meet our needs?

Yes, all programmes are designed to meet the individual employer’s need. We will meet with you firstly to understand your challenges and to discuss your programme specification. Our bespoke package will include a planned training period, relevant qualifications, with the emphasis on the work skills required and a work experience placement where possible. This way we can offer you exactly what you want.

Who delivers the training?

We will deliver the training. All our trainers are fully qualified and have worked in the relevant sectors so that we aim to understand fully your business needs.

Where are the programmes delivered?

We have dedicated centres in Birmingham, and we can also deliver in-house training.

How do employers get involved in the recruitment and interview process?

Employers are encouraged to be involved throughout. They can meet the group via ‘Teams’ or ‘Zoom’. They can also offer the work placement experience. They are fully involved in the interview process.

Is there a cost involved?

No. We offer free training for companies who can guarantee an interview and a number of live vacancies.

Where do you recruit your candidates from?

We work with all local Job Centre Plus offices across Birmingham. We also send our employment opportunities out to other partners that work with clients who are actively looking for employment.

How do you make sure that the right candidates are recruited for the training programme?

We undertake a rigorous assessment and selection process. Firstly, each person has a telephone assessment to ensure they meet the criteria for the programme offered. If, at this stage, we feel that they are suitable, they are then invited to attend a maths, English and IT assessment. This is then followed by a 1 to 1 informal interview with targeted questions that meet the employer’s needs. That way we ensure that we only offer the right calibre of people a place on the programme.

Why should we choose Birmingham Adult Education Service?

We are part of Birmingham City Council, which has a wealth of experience in training and recruitment. We are committed to work with Birmingham’s unemployed citizens to get them into employment. We only employ fully qualified trainers and all our training courses are approved by accredited Awarding bodies.
