A CV is often the first impression that an employer will have of you, so it is really important that your CV is well presented with no spelling mistakes or errors. On this course, you will have the time and the opportunity to write your CV stage by stage to include the right information to make the very best impression. We will support you with layout, content to include in each section, key words to highlight your skills and experience and how to choose the right references. This is a great opportunity to have one-to-one input whilst gaining a meaningful qualification.

Looking for a job can be hard work and take time. On this course, you will learn about the different places you can look for jobs and the best places to find the kind of work you are looking for. You will learn how to get the best from search-engines using the right key words to find what you are looking for.
Filling in a job application correctly gives employers a good impression of you and increases your chances of getting an interview. You will look at different ways you could be asked to apply for a job. You will learn how to complete application forms and how to interprete a job description to write a good application. This course is equally of use to you if you are thinking of applying to go to college!

Health and Safety is an important aspect of the workplace and all employees are responsible for Health and Safety.

All employers want their employees to have the ability to identify problems and use strategies to solve them!
This course will give you the chance to develop these skills.
You will learn how to identify common problems at work, using real life scenarios and learn where to look for sources of help and support to begin to plan the actions needed to solve them. You will have the chance to lead discussions with colleagues to think about ways to solve a workplace problem or issue and apply problem-solving skills in a logical and step by step way. Having this skill is transferable to any work environment and useful for all employers, and also useful in everyday life.


Route to Work: Intensive Workskills Course

Intensive CV Writing CourseProduce a Curriculum Vitae (CV) - Intensive Study - 20hr Workskills Course

This course takes place over three short sessions. In addition you will be required to undertake a small amount of independent study between each sessions. Your tutor will discuss this with you in the first session.
