Bushra dreams of going to university to study Law so she can fight injustice.
She wants to champion women’s rights, especially young female immigrants who are victims of abuse and support young women overcome cultural and social barriers.
Bushra began her learning journey with BAES when she joined Community Learning’s Preparing for ESOL course and is successfully progressing through these English courses.
When Bushra enrolled, she had low self-confidence. However, she has found the strength to overcome some personal issues and is fully engaged in her studies. Her positive attitude towards learning has lent itself to her being a high achiever, she has already significantly improved her English skills. Bushra’s ability to communicate more confidently has enabled her to rebuild her life and overcome the isolation she was feeling by making friends both in class and outside. Bushra now feels more positive about life and is eager to continue studying.
Bushra has overcome challenging personal experiences and is now an independent and confident woman who aspires to go to University. There is a distance still to travel, but she has successfully taken the first steps. We believe she has the strength of personality and determination to achieve her goal.
