Early Years Education & Care - Level 3 Diploma
Course aims
The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of child development from 0-7 years. On achievement of this qualification learners will be qualified to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
Course length
18 months – 5 hours per week in class and 300 placement hours (10 hours per week in placement)
Who is the course for?
This qualification prepares learners to work with children between birth and five years with knowledge of children up to seven years.

CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) (QCF)
Do I need any knowledge, skills or qualifications?
Yes, you must hold Mathematics and English at level 2 or above before starting this qualification, with a view to work towards GCSE’s. It is also helpful to have completed a level 2 childcare qualification.

How will I learn?
You will be taught and supported by a tutor. You will be expected to attend your group once a week for five hours and take part in group and paired activities and discussions. You will build a portfolio of evidence and complete specific tasks with the guidance of your tutor. Some independent study and research is required. You will also learn by working alongside qualified professionals in the workplace.
What materials or equipment will I need to provide?
The most important resource you will have is your willingness to learn. You should also have a supply of pens, paper and a usb memory device.

- Attend placement.
- Have sufficient time for self-study and completion of homework.
