An Albanian teacher in her home country, Anxhela arrived in the UK with her daughter only four years ago.
Since then, she has worked tirelessly on improving her English. Her goal is simple - to create the future she has always dreamed of for herself and her daughter.
With a career as a nurse in mind, she joined an ESOL course at BAES. In only six months she managed to complete her Entry 3 in Speaking and Listening, progressing straight to the Level 1 qualification in Reading shortly after - her hard work and determination spurring her on throughout.
Commenting on Anxhela’s abundance of motivation, her tutor says:
“Anxhela works really hard in her ESOL classes and carries on her studies at home. She’s managed to improve so quickly during the year that, in March 2023, she got the best score possible in her Reading exam.”
Anxhela’s approach to her education is admirable. She’s always one of the main contributors in lessons and is very organised when it comes to her work. So strong is her motivation that she produces extra essays at home to push herself to improve her English as much as possible.
The results are clear to see. Not only is she progressing quickly, but her confidence is improving all the time. After finishing ESOL Level 1, her plan is to move onto a Functional Skills course before continuing her quest to become a nurse.
“I know that it will not be easy” Anxhela says, “But I’m a hardworking person”.
