Introduction to Digital Photography
Course aim
Level: Beginners - Introducing basic use of a DSLR camera, uploading images and manipulating in editing software.
Learning aspects
Key Skills/Technique Outcomes:
- Digital camera basics
- Basic aperture Shutter Speed and ISO
- Photographic production and selection
- Uploading photographs
- Basic image manipulation
Project/Product Outcome:
- Production of 12 final images to create a 2D calendar
Program teaching is delivered through a combination of tutor presentations, practical demonstrations, mini tasks, group critiques and practical exercises. You will be expected to work independently and engage in group tasks in order to develop your skills and knowledge. The course covers a range of techniques and skills, introductory theory, technical and creative approaches.
On completion of this course you will have improved confidence in basic camera operation, selecting, uploading and editing images.
Suitability
This course is suitable for adults aged 19+. It is designed for beginners. No previous experience is required as full instruction and guidance is given.
Equipment
Student must have access to a digital camera: Compact or DSLR + a copy of your camera manual if available
